    Excel table and protected sheet

I have a spreadsheet that I have formatted as a table. The sheet is protected, locking Columns A and B respectively. How can I use the sort options available to me via the column headers? When I chose a sort option I get the message "The cell or chart you are trying to change is protected and therefore read-only."

    Thanks much

Start by unprotecting the sheet, run the macro/sorting routine and then protect it again.

    Hi cameron

Seems to me, when you protect the Table, you could allow Sort...click the box.

Re: Excel table and protected sheet

I have selected all options under "Allow all users of this worksheet to:" I am still unable to sort anything without getting a message. I can certainly unprotect the sheet and sort it. However, as I am constantly sorting and whatnot, this is an extra step I do not want to take.
