I would like to protect my files and folders from deleting by others or by mistakes. I saw a suggestion to use compress folder and files to load within this folder and to assign a password to that folder so that it requires a password to delete. But I could not solve my problem.
I am using Excel 2007 and Excel 2013 in two different OS windows XP and windows 8.1.
Please suggest me.

If you are on a network, then you may be able to get the network admin to set that up for you. Unfortunately, to the best of my knowledge, there is no way in excel to prevent a file from being deleted. If someone can get into the folder in Windows Explorer, and see the file, they can probably delete it.
