Is there a way to do conditionally formatting based on a rolling date?

Is there a way to find duplicate entries over a rolling number of days? For example, I have a date in one field and a name in another field. If that name were to re-appear within X number of days, then I would like to flag those entries.

For example, let's say I enter "John Smith" on 1/9 and let's also say that my range is 5 days. If his name appears again on 1/12, I would want both entries to be flagged.

I would be working off of two fields. A date field and a name field. The trick is that I need it to be a rolling date range.

I've been using Excel for close to a decade but in all of that time, I've just done the basics with it.

Any help that can be offered will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

that can easily be done with conditional formatting, can you upload an example of what you have at the moment with dummy information ?

Not knowing how to incorporate a rolling date with a search for duplicate entries, I'm presently accomplishing this requirement manually. An example of how to accomplish it via the Excel would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for changing your title. If you are not familiar with the rules, please take the time to review them. There aren't many, and they are all important.

The point of bsalv's question is that we can probably modify a file for you to show you how this could be done, but it depends largely on how your data is organized. The easiest way to communicate this is to attach your file. Otherwise we're just guessing. Offhand I think that conditional formatting using a formula that looks something like this (date in A, name in B, X in F1):

    Formula: copy to clipboard
