    Select any cell or range and right click... Go to the Protection TAB and uncheck "Locked". Select OK

    Then right click on the sheet, select Protect Sheet, and click OK.

    You will only be able to change the content in the "Unlocked" cells. By default, ALL cells are locked (eg. protected), so you have to select the ones that you want unlocked.
