Hi ALL

I am much more familiar with Access than with Excel but I now have a need to link tables in a MySQL database to separate worksheets / tables in excel 2013. I am able to create a connection and it does bring the data down from the database but I am unable to figure out how to write back to the database.

I have tried using the MySQL for Excel add-in which works great except that once you close the worksheet you have to start the whole process of adding tables manually to the different worksheets otherwise it doesn't let you commit the data.

In Access, once I link the tables all I need to do is log into the ODBC connector and all my links are available to do with as I please. Is there anyway of doing this in excel? I am trying to get to the stage that as I edit a cell that the value is automatically updated in the database. This way I can run a variety of vba procedures or macros in the worksheet which will make the necessary changes in the MySQL database.
