    Importing big text file into separate excel sheet

    This is sridhar. Actually I am facing a problem while importing big text file into excel sheet. Please any one help me on this.

    Hi,

    Thanks a lot for your quick reply. Actually I have got the data with 408,192 kb data with 40 different fields.
    I wouldlike to dump it in excel. when I was trying to dump it in excel it's dumping only 65,536 . Remaining I am not able to.

    Only Excel 2010 and newer allow for more than 65,535 rows (Excel 2010 allows for more than a million rows). What you need is a code to parse the input file (csv, txt?) and create different sheets each one with max 65,535 rows.
    In order for a forum member to help you, we would probably need to see an example of the raw file (not the complete one, but a sample).

    Just to correct this, Excel 2007 also supports 1048576 rows.

    @Sridhar, you are most likely using a .xls file, which is limiting your rows to only 65536. Try saving your file as .xlsx, close and reopen it, and then try importing again.
