Describe my problem? Where do I start....

Well, I have always been the go to guy for Excel. However, I have always stayed away from visual basic - until now. And, my problem, is that I am a complete retard and novice when it comes to visual basic. With the simplest activity taking a shocking amount of time, I am furious at my own ignorance, and stupidity. Am looking forward to attaining some semblence of competence in the coming months.
