    Budding VBA Coder

Good morning all. I have been recently finding needs for a great many macros to make my life a lot easier in Excel, and to my pleasure have worked through a great many of them for my job. In an ever increasing effort to automate reporting on anything I have to do daily for more than a month, I have been learning, programming, and successfully automating documents.

My shining achievement in this endevor so far has been a document that pulls in multiple oracle sql dumps into a single reporting document that updates status on any reported trouble issue until it is closed. It also takes raw metrics in other spreadsheets, formats them, and displays them. This process - through VBA macros - has decreased the time to prepare reports for review from approximately 6 hours when I first got to the job, to about 15 minutes. I am continuing to attempt to get this to the point where it is run by the end user minutes before their presentation meeting with full updates put in during the meeting by the notes taker and reports distributed at the door as they leave.

That is what brought me to this site today. Looking around there is a LOT of good information so I figured this will be a great place to learn AND teach. Happy coding!
