    From local language to english

    Dear All,
as I would like to start working more with VBA code, I would like to have everything in one language - english. Please, how I can get english to my excel back (without re-instal), to be able to re-learn function syntax, etc. If possible, I would like to skip from english to my local language and back.

    Thanks and best regards,
    Petr

    Hi Peter,

I do not think it is possible

As far as I know, in national versions of Excel, you have all spreadsheet interface in local language and only VBA in english.
What is worse - in VBA there are standard (english separators) . for decimal point , for arguments lists, etc. while in spreadsheet interface separators depend on local settings
    Best Regards,

    Kaper

Re: From local language to english

    Thanks, that is right.

The problem is that it is very difficult to create a formula if you know it in local language and it has a different syntax, separators, etc. in english. :-) If anybody has an idea, let me know. So far - thanks.

Re: From local language to english

Well, I use local version. And I write standard formula and then in VBE in Immediate window I write
Please Login or Register to view this content.
(? in immediate window is a shortcut from Debug.Print)
and here goes english version wit english separators etc.
and also opposite works in immediate window:
Please Login or Register to view this content.
and in the wotrksheet there is a national version already (always there are problems with string constants - you have to add more " signs)

Hi Kaper, could you please send me any file, where you really use this Debug.print? I could not figure out how it works. :-( Thanks a lot. Begginer Olwy

In a file you will see basically nothing. See attached picture with open SpreadSheet and VBA Editor.
Immediate window is of course larger than normally ;-)
    Hope it explains a lot
