    Excel Power Query Grouping list

    Hi,

    I'm trying to group an extracted list, my starting point is ;

    which I am then re grouping so I can rank them, I've attached a work book with three queries, one is what I want but it has a lot of steps which I've been trying to reduce, the problem is the 'who sold what ' column which I can't access, you will see what I've been trying in query two, all I can think is it's because there are more than one value but i can't figure a way round it.

    Richard.

    Re: Excel Power Query Grouping list

    It's almost there but not quite , I'd got this far after a bit more thought, the problem is if you look , Gigi appears twice in the who sold what, as we're combining two unique lists,
    we need to combine and then make unique, I've got the number of steps down and I've attached my updated version,

    I only started this to refresh my memory on grouping things.

    Re: Excel Power Query Grouping list

    There is no Gigi available in the open worksheet Group by SQL.

    Notice it will be clear to you what you want to achieve.

    That could be differant for the forummembers.

    So if you need help, explain clear what is expected.

    Excel Power Query Grouping list

    Hi, I'm reposting this question, and I've tried to make the problem clearer, with a new work book,

    The problem remains the same I have grouped data where there is a tie, and want to extract the values from the 'groped ' 'All Rows',

    I've made a copy of each query as I've added each step and named them as to what they are trying to achieve,

    the last query has a list of names, but there are duplicates, this is what I'm trying to get rid of I only want a disctinct list of the names.

    I was thinkin of trying List.union, i've not used it , but I've seen it used in a similar situation. I have to go out today but if I get it working I' l update post.
