Using Excel 365 Online: Caon not sort one sheet while other can

I am trying to sort my data
I can sort the sheet NESDET2201 while I can not sort sheet NESDET2202. I am attaching file here.
What could be possible reason

Sorts OK for me. What are you trying to sort on and what happens?

How are you sorting that sheet? You have a lot of volatile RANDBETWEEN formulas that will recalculate every time you sort, so they will not be in any particular order.

Here the sorting of both sheets goes well.

How exactly do you try to sort the sheet and on what and what is the unexpected result?

If you sort the table on Student ID the table will be sorted on the old Student ID and then the randbetween gives all Students a new random Student ID,

It was just nothing happening. even If I clear all the sorting by going to Home -> Sortf & filter-> Clear
And I am using Excel online

It works fine on desktop version

I am attaching the file again without randbetween formula

I Can sort only if I select whole data range (a4:N36) and use CUSTOM SORT for a column (say G or H or any other) I can sort my data
but If I use a small dropdown with the column header (like @result Unit 502 or any other ) nothing happens data remain same

For Excel online you need the forum "Other platforms".
You can request the moderator to move this tread. Contact moderator is possible via report post (see bottom left)

Yes the formulas of Excel MS office 365 are not the same as the formulas of Excel online.

It should be in the Office 365 section (I've moved it there), but you should add Excel Online to your forum profile (in addition to Office 365) and to the thread title.

Other Platforms is for non-MS options such as GoogleSheets.

Hadn't realised there was an Office 365 forum, let alone a (potential) sub-forum for Excel online. .

Not aware of seeing any threads for Office 365. Should I? When I use Excel 365 on my iPad, what is that classed as? I know there are things that I can't do with it that I can do with the Office 365 subscription (on my laptops).
