    Head to head league table

I was wondering if there is a template I could use to follow my head to head competition I have with my friend.

Multiple fixtures, no need for home and away, that records win, draws and losses with GD, if possible.

So a fixture list, we play once a week for the year, where I input the results and a league will be updated every time I record a result.

Thank you in advance for any help.

    Regards,

Here's one from Bob Phillips from many years ago:

Hopefully you can amend it to suit your purposes.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Pete,

Thank you for the prompt reply, it's not quite what I'm looking for as I only want myself and my friend as the 'teams' and we are going to face each other mulitple times and I would like a league table set up to reflect this.

Did you try adapting what Pete gave you? Have a go and come back if you get stuck.

    Hi Ali,

Yes, I did but the spreadsheet is esentially based on 24 teams home and away, so meet twice.
I would like a head to head which meet each other all the time, so the fixtures are me and my friend
meeting multiple times and results recorded and leagie table updating every time, score is entered.

    Hope this makes sense,

    scousemo

OK, so what have you tried? The idea of this forum is to help you to a solution rather than build one for you, so your first job is to manually mock up what you are looking for with annotations telling us how you want it to work.

Yes, so I have put the two teams in, myself and my friend but the spreadsheet only comes up with two fixtures, home and away. What I am looking for is me and my friend meeting multiple times and results recorded and leagie table updating every time, score is entered.

I'm not the best at this and if noone can help me, I'll try and find an alternative solution and thank you for anyone offering a solution.

Re: Head to head league table

You will need a column for the date of the fixture, and then two columns to record your score and your friend's score, and then one more column to indicate the result - a win or loss for you (or a draw). Obviously, a loss for you is a win for your friend, and vice-versa.

In a separate table you can record the cumulative results for you and your friend, and allocate the appropriate points for wins and draws. and then you can show your league table in a third table, perhaps on another sheet.

As Ali has said, we expect you to help us by putting together a mock-up of what you have, and in this sample file you can show us what you want to achieve and then we can show you how to do this. The yellow banner at the top of the screen gives details of how you can attach a sample Excel file to one of your posts.

    Hope this helps.

    Pete

I'm sorry about that, thought this question might've been asked previously and I might've used that. Thanks for the advice and i'll give this a try with an attachment.

Re: Head to head league table

I have attached my xl sheet and just need to know how to compile the league results and have them change once I add the results in.

I hope this is what is asked from me and you can help.

    TIA

Re: Head to head league table

I've set this up for you in the attached file, along the lines that I described in Post #8.

I've simplified the data input by removing the two columns that you had for names. As you add data, the table to the right generates the numbers, and this is then shown as a league table in the other sheet. Everything is automatic, so you just need to add results in columns B and C of the first sheet.

    Hope this helps.
