DAX calculate Total between two dates and only show for that period

Hi,
is there a way to use dates beteen, to get the total between two dates and then only show for that perid,
so

But this would show for every date in a pivot or matrix, so I put keep filters

Which restricts it to the relevant period but also filters down the value to the amount for that period, I'm trying for a mix of the two
so in a pivot of Jan to Dec, Total for eg March - June which only appears for the Month Marth to June?

All I can think is to use an IF statement, is there another / better way of achieving this?

One other point in above I've used MAX to get the start end dates, is that a 'good' way or should I be using something else.
