    Outlook Password Prompt Message

    Morning Everyone,

Outlook 2010 keeps asking me about my password every time I open , and sometimes through the use. I have attached a copy of the prompt message. I tried the following steps in the video below and did not work

Click the File tab to open the Backstage view.
On the Info tab, click Account Settings, and then click Account Settings.
On the Data Files tab, click the Personal Folders file (.pst) for which you want to manage a password, and then click Settings.
Click on Security. Uncheck "Always Prompt for logon credentials". Click OK.

    HTH.

    Hello Pete,

    Thank you for your response.

On the Data Files tab, click the Personal Folders file (.pst) for which you want to manage a password,
After clicking on the Date Files, I did not see the Personal Folder, unless you meant something else. Please see the attachment.

Uncheck "Always Prompt for logon credentials
    It is already unchecked.

    Thanks.

The personal folder would be the file path indicated in the main window on that screen. Then settings, etc. But you did find the box to uncheck.
Try F1 and enter Password" as the criteria to search for which might help on your particular version of Outlook.

Thank you, I know now what you are talking about. I just do not know where may I put a password. I am trying everything to see where it may require a password.

    Re: Outlook Password Prompt Message

One more thought: Are you using Outlook 2010 to access a POP3 or IMAP email account? I can't fathom O2010 prompting you for a password in the middle of activity unless it's perhaps web based. If so, you may need to reconfigure your server settings to remember its password. You might start here if that's the case.

    Good luck.
