I get tons of emails with confirmation PO numbers in the Subject of the emails. The situation as it exists, i create folders out on my Hard drive ( not outlook folders) and copy the email into its own folder i create based on the PO Number in the Subject . I'll list relevant info and steps below.

Info:
all emails subjects are the same except for PO Number.

Example Email Subject: Confirmation PO 34278823
the only thing that is different for each email is the number .

Steps i go through:

1. i create a folder on my hardrive and the name of the folder will be the PO number in the subject.

2. I copy that email into the folder i just created out on my hard drive

In the sample i would have created a folder named C:\34278823
and copied that email into this folder.

Having to manually create the folders and then copy the emails over is so time consuming. Is there any to create a macro that will automate these steps ? I was hoping that since there was a definite pattern for every email subject that it might make it doable.

the macro would work down the list of emails and look for subjects that have
Confirmation PO in the subject , create a folder based on the number it finds after Confirmation PO and then copies the email into the folder it just created for it.
