Hi, could anyone teach me how I may create an Outlook macro to reply with a standard message, but also including that person's name? An example below..
External colleague 1 and External colleague 2 asked about their application
Below are the results I need to inform my colleagues separately:
External colleague 1, 2 have their permission granted
How do I create a macro BUTTON, such that for each email, I may reply with a preset message?
Eg:
1) Email 1 from External Colleague 1 (Steve, Jobs) asking for permission
From: External Colleague 1
To: My colleague 1, My colleague 2, My colleague 3, Myself
CC: External Colleague 2, External Colleague 3
My reply should be as follows: (notice how all the "To" are automatically slotted into the cc list instead)
From: Myself
To: External Colleague 1
CC: My colleague 1, My colleague 2, My colleague 3, External Colleague 2, External Colleague 3
(Function
If External colleague 1 is Steve, Jobs, I would customise my reply to "Steve my dear friend".
If External colleague 1 is Peter, Eric, I would customise my reply to Mr Eric.)
Hi Steve my dear friend,
Permission has been given to you. Thank you!
Regards,
Joel
(Being a standard reply to an email, the original email should also be here, similar to what you'd see from using a normal "reply" button)
2) Email 2 from External Colleague 2 (Peter, Eric) asking for permission
From: External Colleague 2
To: My colleague 1, My colleague 2, Myself
CC: External colleague 4
Email 2 (notice how all the "To" are automatically slotted into the cc list instead)
From: Myself
To: External colleague 2
CC: External colleague 4, My colleague 1, My colleague 2
(Function
If External colleague 1 is Steve, Jobs, I would customise my reply to "Steve my dear friend".
If External colleague 1 is Peter, Eric, I would customise my reply to Mr Eric.)
Hi Mr Eric,
Permission has been granted. Thank you.
Regards,
Joel
(Being a standard reply to an email, the original email should also be here, similar to what you'd see from using a normal "reply" button)
PS - in both cases, it's as good as 1) hitting the reply button, 2) dragging the names in the "To" list to the "CC" list, and 4) typing a reply to the original message, but 4) not sending it out. This is so that I may have a quick glance before sending out the reply.
Is this technically possible? Many thanks in advance.
