    Matching barcode numbers when scanned

    Hi ALL

    Any help would be helpful.

I am trying to save time by not crossing off barcode numbers manually and was wondering if I scanned the barcode again on the same sheet is there a way that the scanned number would be found and a tick placed next to it.

You could use a COUNTIF formula to show a tick in the next column if the number appears more than once...

It might be easier to provide a solution if you could show us your data layout in a sample workbook.

I can not upload the sheet for some reason.

I WILL TRY AND EXPLAIN BETTER

I export a sheet with pre scanned barecode numbers all I want to do is be able to scan the same bare code which is on a cash bag that gets brought in each week.

If I scan the code again would like it to match up either saying matched or with a tick to show that it's been mached.

There is about 50 barecode numbers in collum A and need to match in collum b.

I will try and download again

When you scan the barcodes are they added to the bottom of the list in column B?

If so perhaps something like the attached?

Add your barcode list to column A, clear column B and start scanning. When it finds a match a tick will show in column C.
Column C populated using the below formula and formatted with a font that displays the letter a as a tick.
    Formula: copy to clipboard
