Is there a way to display images in posts? I've definitely done it before, but the img tag doesn't seem to work now, it just displays a link.

It depends which forum you're in.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and in the right hand corner it shows you which posting methods are available for that particular forum.
For this particular forum we can do these things:
You may post new threads
You may post replies
You may post attachments
You may edit your posts
BB code is On
Smilies are On
[IMG] code is On
HTML code is Off
Trackbacks are Off
Pingbacks are Off
Refbacks are On

I've wondered about this feature also...what Image Host site do you use?
John
If you have issues with Code I've provided, I appreciate your feedback.
In the event Code provided resolves your issue, please mark your Thread as SOLVED.
If you're satisfied by any members response to your issue please use the star icon at the lower left of their post.
You can use this site if it's easiest, you just upload the image and link to it in the same post. However it's not a lot of use since you can't use it in the main forum
I don't have a default image host site.
I used to use TinyPic until they started filling the image link page with loads of ads.
If anyone knows of a good FREE site that doesn't do that please let us know.
I'd suggest ExcelForum:
e.g.
http://www.excelforum.com/members/snb-albums-snb.html
When I click that link I get this message:
Invalid Album specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator
Can you try again ? (I made the album 'public'.)
OK, it works now.
Hi snb
How does one set this up on the Forum?
@jaslake
My profile / Albums (below 'Friends') / More / Create New Album

Guys adding pics inline is usually done like this (if from your pc), to create a post go advanced, go to the attachment icon and upload your pic goadvanced.JPG, type your post and then go back to the icon and click the down arrow and select the pic goadvanced2.jpg now usually if they are within forum limits for size they will show inline
Obviously there are alos the forum settinsg which may interfere with this, you can also try just copying and pasting in some instances.
Not all forums are the same - seek and you shall find
testing......what I get...not embeded...

@ Simon
I'm not being critical of the Forum but I'd like to know and you know how/why Forums do stuff.
Why is it IMG Tags is on for some of our Sub-Forums and off for others?
For example it's on for this Sub-Forum but off for the Programming Sub-Forum (at least on my platform)...
It's down to how the "tech team" have the particular forum settings set, or they may have a modification to manage images which needs to be set up better or another modification which isn't written well and is interfering with how the forum runs.
Sorry, best answer I can give without checking settings....etc
In case anyone's interested, here's a quick stab at a chrome extension that enables you to view images in posts where the img tag is disabled. It seems to work well in my extremely limited testing
