May be inactive for a bit.

    Hi All

I have a torn labrum in my shoulder, and was supposed to have surgery 2 months ago - well all the current crap nix'd that.
My shoulder surgery is now scheduled for 7:30 am tomorrow (Tues 12 May 2020), and based on how I feel after that, I may be off the forum for a short while. PLUS, while Im off, my wife will be working from home for 10 days and hinted that she may be hogging the computer room!!

Im relieved to finally get this done, but not looking forward to be sliced up and in pain for the next few weeks (in fact, I think the nerves are finally starting to kick in now)

Will update more when I can

Ford - I hope all goes well. We’ll miss you - I hope the convalescence isn’t too uncomfortable. Good luck!

    LOL Alan

well it all went ok (i guess, didnt get to talk to the doc - that i remember), so im not even sure what they did. will ask them tomorrow

they gave me a nerve blocker, and its working pretty well - except that my left rm is totally numb...i literally cannot feel my fingers, or even tell where the hand is even. this is supposed to wear off abt 2am, so i start pain meds in about an hour to help with the transition

if i dont sit right, i can feel discomfort on either back or front depending what i did. tonight/tomorrow will be the big reveal though.

    more later

Ali, just wanted to give an update. Also, sitting around doing nothing is going to drive me nuts

Re: May be inactive for a bit.

Interesting thing is, because my wife went with me for the surgery, the place she works at have said that either of us could have come in contact with the virus, so she has been put on 10 days (paid) administrative leave. She is working from home ATM, so the poor woman has to put up with me all day for the next 2 weeks...hope we dont kill each other LOL

    My latest update...
Hand is back to life, nerve blocker has worn off, so pain meds are working fairly well now, until I move something I shouldnt. Seems he did have to detach/re-attach my bicep, lotsa padding around the shoulder, and my bicep aches like I did 100 curls the day before.
Also, 1 of the (2) pain meds Im on is oxycodone, and that makes me really sleepy and (even more) loopy

The three of us have managed for seven weeks so far - I’m sure you’ll be OK.sounds like they had fun with you whilst you were under - hope it’s not too painful.
