Sorry I didn't know where else to post this. To the admins of this excellent resource, please enable PNG uploads. They're smaller than BMPs and more crisp than JPGs for screen shots.
Thanks!

Or even better if it's an Excel question post a sample workbook rather than an image. Saves the person trying to help you having to go to the trouble of recreating the workbook if they need to test the solution.

PNG has its benefits, no objection.
But if you can't upload them and are literate enough to realise that BMP is much too bulky and JPG is much too blurry, why not simply go for GIF? Has been around for a long time and is supported by all systems/browsers/forums I have come across so far.
Some browsers still have issues with PNG, so ... as long as there are still people around who insist on using IE6, you can't blame web sites for not allowing PNGs.
IME, anyone using IE6 probably simply has no choice - it's the corporate IT baboons who make them use it. Still, gives you an excuse to typerepeatedly into all your CSS...Please Login or Register to view this content.

We've been promised Win7 and Off2010 next year, so I may be able to remove my highly illegal VM then...
Do we work at the same place?
Dom
I very much doubt it, as I don't think we have any offices in your area (unless they were part of the company we merged with)
I don't think Leeds City Council has merged with anyone yet (although they might have to build a wall soon to separate Leeds and Bradford).
Dom
Are you in the city centre? (I went to university there, amongst other places)
Indeed I am. I came here for Uni but never left. The idea of working anywhere where I'm more than a 10 minute train ride home doesn't appeal hence I didn't follow the migrating herds down to London.

When I lived in London, my journey was 15 minutes. It's now about 1.5 hours, but at least I get to leave the city behind!
