Once you found this site, have you.......?

...found yourself looking for more ways to use Excel and end up creating more and more work for yourself, so you would have more time to do more work?(<--seems to be a pattern with all of these time saving devices)

    LOL, I did.

I've taken simple spreadsheets and made monsters out of them...then end up on here asking for help,..........over and over this cycle goes.

Is there a help program somewhere for Excel junkies to help them with their new found addiction?

    Hi,

I've found "you don't know what you don't know" and have discovered lots of hints and tricks from the Mr. Excel videos. I find the VBA and programming books are good for specific probems but have never read one from cover to cover. They are best for specific problems examples like Web import or understanding loops in VBA. I have also learned lots from some Pivot Table specific books.

The bottom line is: there is too much to learn in Excel. Instead of doing everything in Excel, examine other products like Outlook for schedules, Access for shared databases, Word for text and see how Excel data can be used or merged with them.
One test is worth a thousand opinions.

You're asking the wrong audience, I think. If there were one, we wouldn't be here.

Of course, I could stop any time I wanted...

Spoken like a true Excel junkie. I find myself needing my VBA fix, even to the point where I'll do it at home now. I was on this forum the other night and my 12 year old boy asked: "Why are you on the Excel Forum?" for which I replied "I don't know, just checking it out!". I then went on to briefly tell him my latest problem (because he asked) with regards to work and I could literally see his eyes glaze over, he completely stopped listening to me. Its a good thing VBA doesn't come in needle form!
