Cross Posting

Hi all, I just wanted some clarification on this rule. I somewhat understand why the forum would want a link to another post, either from here or another forum; but if someone is asking the same question here as they did from a different forum, wouldn't that usually imply that they did not get their desired answer? For instance, if I had a For Each Loop question that didn't get answered somewhere else and then came here with it where is the real foul?

I realize that it doesn't take much to link a thread but I am curious to the reason for such strictness regarding the issue.

Very often the OPs post in multiple Forums hopinng for a quicker answer. This means people may be working on a problem which has already been solved

Ah now I see. Basically you are preventing someone from posting the same question on 5 different forums in 5 minutes. Straight forward enough but for some reason my brain is lame today. Thanks RoyUK
