    Embedded hyperlinks

I can't seem to get embedded hyperlinks to work here on the forum, can someone let me know what I'm doing wrong?

Let's say I'm trying to post a link to the forum rules. I think I should put this:

    <a href="http://www.excelforum.com/forum-rules/642590-forum-rules.html">Forum Rules</a>

Is your code running too slowly?
Does your workbook or database have a bunch of duplicate pieces of data?
Have a look at this article to learn the best ways to set up your projects.
It will save both time and effort in the long run!

    Re: Embedded hyperlinks

I just copy the url when I'm on the Forum Rules page and paste it in the thread.
    Like so

    Re: Embedded hyperlinks

Right, but I want to be able to display text and when the text is clicked on, go to the link. For my example above, the words Forum Rules should be highlighted like your hyperlink is, but when clicked on it takes the clicker to the page.

Type the Key word(s) in your post, then click the Insert Link icon (the globe with a chain link) and paste the URL in the pop up field.

    Re: Embedded hyperlinks

    Dave

I just played with it in the Test Forum.

In the message box for the new thread I typed Forum Rules
(I already had the link copied and ready for pasting)
I then highlighted the text and clicked on the Insert Link icon
Then pasted the link in the box that opened

There, we both learned something new today.
