How do you remember what you learned here!

Everybody else probably has a better brain than me! Over the years, I have received some wonderful help on this forum. I build a lot of spreadsheets and sometimes, I will need to do something I did months ago and can't remember how to do it and can't remember what spreadsheet it is in! I guess you power users just remember what you learn. I was thinking of making an Excel file or Word doc or binder or something on "Things I Have Learned About Excel!" Any tips?

I've made a word document filled with excel tricks. Would be happy to share but unfortunately much is written in Swedish. I also have a folder to which I download excel files with interesting macros and formulas.

And certainly you can google as Bob Phillips suggests but googling unless you know exactly what you are looking for gives you umpteen links that you may have to check hoping to finding that special solution you know exists.

I have an excel file with many sheets which store the topics, for instance, "SUMPRODUCT","UNIQUE DISTINCT LIST","COUNTIF","OFFSET","VALIDATION"...to collect examples for that topic.

through my User Control Panel here on the forum, i have reset the number of subscriptions that i could make, and i subscribe to threads that i feel are important in terms of their content. then, when i am in need for help or a refresher course, i revisit, review and prune as appropriate.

Another reason why good titles are important... saving a thread entitled "Please Help with Formula" and having some juicy content, won't help a year from now when you know you need that juicy content and have no good title to look for.
