    Worthy of a negative rep?

Does anyone think my first post (#3) to this thread:

    http://www.excelforum.com/excel-prog...less-than.html

    is unhelpful?

The OP had started with a title of "Its been a while", and following my post he later gave me a negative rep with this comment:

I am clearly new to the forum and I appreciate the rule clarification. The purpose of posting to a forum is generally to get help though and you chose to neglect that aspect.
    Is this justified?

Nope, shocking behaviour, worthy of a wide berth I'd say

No Pete this does not sound justified, and as a matter of fact, I saw this title and was going to post but I thought your response was enough and it is appreciated.

Just like another recent unjust negative rep, we will get this one resolved too...

No Pete! It's not justified at all! I can feel how you feel for this.

Recently Tiger received a negative rep for something like this.

A Mod(i think was Arlette) asked from tech team and erased this..

Same thing MUST be done here.

Edit: Glad to see how fast react 2 Mods! Congr to both!

Re: Worthy of a negative rep?

Thanks for your positive comments, and I see that the negative rep has gone from my UserCP, so thanks for the fast action on that as well.

What incensed me about this is that I have seen heavy-handed comments to new members in the past - "change your title or else" kind of thing - and I thought I was being very positive in offering 4 bits of advice - don't do it that way, use a COUNTIFS function, use CF to highlight dates, oh, and change your title before I give you more details. Also, because s/he hadn't refreshed the screen, the negative rep was posted after I had given a detailed answer.

Anyway, I've calmed down a bit now, so thanks again for your support.

    Pete

Pete, I would give you rep just for being a good guy!
Be fore warned, I regularly post drunk. So don't take offence (too much) to what I say.

The Grid. A digital frontier. I tried to picture clusters of information as they moved through the computer. What did they look like? Ships? motorcycles? Were the circuits like freeways? I kept dreaming of a world I thought I'd never see. And then, one day...
