How do I paste a table of sample data into a post? I tried the Table function but I have no idea how to use it.

It is more helpful to post a sample workbook. While you are composing a post, click on Go Advanced below the edit window and from there you can either click on the paperclip icon or (by scrolling down) on Manage Attachments, and then follow the steps. The FAQ describes things in more detail, so check that out as well.
Hope this helps.

It's preferred to post a sample workbook to avoid copying and pasting into a worksheet from the forum.
To Attach a File:
1. Click on Go Advanced
2. In the frame Attach Files you will see the button Manage Attachments
3. Click the button.
4. A new window will open titled Manage Attachments - Excel Forum.
5. Click the Browse... button to locate your file for uploading.
6. This will open a new window File Upload.
7. Once you have located the file to upload click the Open button. This window will close.
8. You are now back in the Manage Attachments - Excel Forum window.
9. Click the Upload button and wait until the file has uploaded.
10. Close the window and then click Submit.

Well, I managed the attachment but couldn't find any help on pasting in sample data or tables. One would think it would be easy on a site devoted to Excel. Maybe it will work none-the-less.
thank you for the help!
There is no attachment.
The forum runs on vBulletin software, not Excel, anyone who wants to help you would have to copy a screen image and paste it into Excel and guess where it goes since spaces don't correspond to excel columns. One would think it would be easy on a site devoted to Excel
I gave you real help! I don't want to create a workbook from scratch. It only takes a few seconds to post a workbook.thank you for the help!
Check out the FAQ - it describes how to mark a thread as Solved.

Think I got it sir. Thanks again.
Okay, another thing to remember for the future is to click the "star" icon in the bottom left corner of any post that has helped you - it allows you to pass on thanks more directly to a contributor, as well as adding to his/her reputation (the green squares in a profile).

Ah well, thanks for trying it out on me.
