Lately, I have been in a slump. I seem to be spending more time in the water Cooler than actually answering questions. Anyone else have ups and downs with answering Q's due to life commitments?

Be fore warned, I regularly post drunk. So don't take offence (too much) to what I say.
I am the real 'Napster'

How did you know? It seems that I am perpetually sloshed. Truth be told, most days happy starts at about 7pm Osaka time. On my 9th pint right now.
Is that like the Canned replies for forum gurus? Click a button and the threads will be moved to the water cooler? I like that idea.
Zbor, please select some questions for Dave but those with pics attached only instead of files! :D
If this answers your question and are happy with the solutions please mark this thread solved.
Thanks,
Mike
If you are satisfied with the solution(s) provided, please mark your thread as Solved.
Select Thread Tools-> Mark thread as Solved.
"positive feedback" ?! I am not talking about reply/solution, a simple thread accesing by you, you should be rewarded with hundreds of points. and a nwe status concept should be created!
After a surfeit of OPs one need a bit of relaxation at the water cooler.
By the way why don’t we rename this part of the forum “The Bar” then nobody would be offended by what is said as it would then be just is a bunch of drunks muttering and mumbling?
Alf
Dave, I can start a "Dave to the Rescue" Thread like the Cavalry thread, people can specifically send their threads to you.
No charge.
BTW, your avatar is truly the most interesting one I've ever seen on the forum. I can't believe how often I find myself just watching it unfold....

I am with there! But, I am probably one of the worst offenders (being drunk that is)
LOL, I still have to learn a lot from all you gurus. But, hold that thought...
I also had a hand in designing the Matrix, these days I only can see in code.
FWIW I'm going through a can't be bothered phase. I stopped answering questions here a while back and have only made a handful of contributions elsewhere. Maybe my Excel mojo is dwindling.

My last four postings to different threads suggesting solutions did not generate any feed-back so my “help OPs” motivation is zero at the moment.

Think of it as "I know I'm right, and anyone else who stumbles across this thread and uses my solution will know I'm right".... take heart from being right.
Hi JBeaucaire,
Thanks for encouragement.Much impressed by your "ESP" talents as your words came true almost immediately.I know I'm right, and anyone else who stumbles across this thread and uses my solution will know I'm right

Just one question concerning "forum courtesy" should I tell markwiley that Zurich is in Switzerland where “,” is used as the decimal separator?

It is discourteous to notice an error someone has made in an attempt to assist and to NOT offer a corrective comment. We are a village.
Some new peeps may get their feelings hurt when you do... but which is worse? Stepping on toes that should be able to take some "help from a fellow contributor", or leaving a possible frustrating error uncorrected to the OP's dismay?
People get over being "helped", or they should, but OP's who get bad advice may decide permanently the ExcelForum is a bad place to ask, so let's not let that happen. Dive in, help when/where you can, always. Just be courteous when you correct a fellow contributor.

Just like to comment about the helping the help as our local rocket scientist as mention above. But its a bit hard (in my books) that how can you 'suggest' or 'raise a point' that the helper's post is out of reach of the OP thread concept. Just a little while back a simple lookup formula would have done the right for a noobie excel learner but a helper posted a formula such as this =IF(MOD(ROW(),5)=1,A1+100,A1. Like wt......
Okay with comments like above we are getting off topic !!!
Now I like some help from Dave. What formula do I need to make from following the jpg provided

currently a PUI
Have I made you happy ??? If yes, please make me happy by pressing the Add Reputation button in my post.
Please don't forget to do the same to other contributors of this forum.
ThanksI don't void confusion, I create it
I think you need this formula: 2a,3a-epithio-17a-methyl-5a-androstan-17b-ol-1, 4 Androstadiene-3, 17-Dione-17-hydroxymethylandrost-4,9 11-trien-1,4-dien-3-one
@ratcat: I'm not sure I understand your point. If you provided a "simple" VLOOKUP solution and another contributor provided an alternative solution, the OP then had a choice. Your comment is out of context so it's difficult to determine the relative merits of the two options. In the past, I have spent time working on formula solutions and eventually come up with something that works ... only for someone else to turn up with a shorter, better answer. I learned from working it out myself and I also learned from the alternative solution. And how are you assessing the skill level of the OP? Just because they're a new poster doesn't mean they can't take on board the options offered to them.

Thanks zbor I will take that formula onboard
@TMShucks I'm not in the best state to comment on anything, since I have the liquid courage (alcohol) in me. As you have pointed out that my comment is out of context due to the lack of evidence (the thread in question) I understand. I'm not the one to single out helpers as there are like us, helping out on their own time, it doesn't feel right. We are all a team.
That is a great thread debater there Trevor !!!And how are you assessing the skill level of the OP?
As I written and read and re written an answer to your question. I feel that this discussion isn't appropriate for this thread. I'm happy to take the discussion behind closed door or another thread appropriately titled.
Cheers
RC
I'm not that interested in drawing this out into a long debate. My point was simply that it's good to have options, even if maybe you can't use them all.
Regards, TMS
Okay without making this a long winded answer about assessing the OP skill level. Here is two quotes from the thread.
and......Please please please help me.....
.....no one else in my group knows how to use excel at all
Quick question ratcat
Is this the same as dutch courage?since I have the liquid courage (alcohol) in me
