If a Forum member has not yet responded to any threads, s/he will have no "Rep Power". If s/he clicks on the Add Reputation button for another member's post, then that member will receive a grey reputation (i.e. no increase in points). This will NOT change to green, even if the member does subsequently reply to a thread, as the Rep Power was zero when the rep button was clicked.
Hope this helps.
Pete
Haha I was wondering because they weren't even involved in the thread!
So you mean I can't create a bunch of dup accounts to rack up my rep points??
Well, that's the daft thing about it - you probably could, as long as each of those accounts had made at least one post. However, you can't give consecutive reps to the same person, so you would have to rep yourself, then someone else, then yourself and so on.
Pete
So, if reputation is important to you, it is more valuable to help an able person than to help someone who is less able.
click on the * Add Reputation if this was useful or entertaining.
the more senior a member is, the more points their "rep" is worth. So if I rep someone, my "rep" is worth 7 points (I think), compared to a brand new member who's rep is worth only 1 point
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you

FDibbins, you can test that out on me, make sure you do it a few times though, just to be sure I am seeing the correct number!
Be fore warned, I regularly post drunk. So don't take offence (too much) to what I say.

LOL thanks for the offer JD, very generous of you
@ JapanDave,
FDibbins may test it on me as well. LOL.
However, he added to my reputation in the past, and I could see that his "Tap" was worth much more, compared to junior members.
Please consider:
Be polite. Thank those who have helped you. Then Click on the star icon in the lower left part of the contributor's post and add Reputation. Cleaning up when you're done. If you are satisfied with the help you have received, then Please do Mark your thread [SOLVED] .
@ JapanDave,
FDibbins awards a "Tap" very sparingly. Hint as you may, you have to deserve it. To get a "Tap" from arlu1201, requires even harder work. LOL.
I guess we will just have to work harder!
