    magnifying glass on picture

    Hi

I've spot few times somewhere on internet question about possibility to create something like 'magnifying glass' in excel.
Can not resist and try to figure out something.

Could you take a look on it, please?
I suppose that can be done better (to be honest I am working now with newer version where user can 'upload' its own picture, more flexible size base picture etc.).

    Any feedback more than welcome.

What an interesting project. Well done for coming up with it, and with relatively straightforward code too.

    Some suggestions.

The magnfier shows an area centred on area on the map below the actual pointer. Allow the magnifier to be centred on the spot where the pointer is.
An option for the magnifier window to be fixed and show the area under the pointer as it moves
An option for a round, oval, rectangular magnifier

1st issue depends on resolution, xl window size, max'd or not, etc. I am working on it (on my screen 1980x1024, maximized xl window, works fine as you suggest).
2nd - I've added on to do list.

    Cheers Richard.

Not sure if it is a good idea or not - but I kept trying to use the mouse wheel for zooming.
so to make my habit a reality I slapped together some code from Jaafar Tribak with that

Also maybe add some error handling as I has a couple of errors while having another sheet open. When probably it should have just done nothing.
If you want something done right... find a forum and ask an online expert.

I'd love to experiment with your code but keep receiving an error highlight "crop".

What reference am I missing in the TOOLS ?

    Running Excel 2007.

    Thanks.

    Thanks for code.

I have a look on it. However, I am worry about rescaling picture with scroll, with bigger picture (> 4MP) it could take a while, and it meantime new scroll event appear it could crash (maybe I am worry too much).
    Anyway I'll check it.
I've almost done rescaling (rezooming) based on changes in cell and it so far works fine.
Also I've add (as Richard suggest) possibility to change square into circle.

    Thanks for checking.

I don't think that I've got anything unusual.

    EDIT:
    1. scroll zoom added
    2. 2 shapes of glass (square/circle under mouseclick)
there is still the same picture (I mean version without possibility to load your own picture)
