    Array formula in Word

    Hello,

Hope you all have a good day

I have a question related to Word Table formula.

Is it possible to create array formula in Word like we can do in Excel?

    example:
    The formula =product(B1:C1)+product(B2:C2)+product(B3:C3) works well.

Just want to know if the formula can be simplified into array formula like in Excel.

In excel we can use array formula ( with CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER):

    {=SUM(B1:B3*C1:C3)}

Attach example in Word for review.

    Thank you.

    Re: Array formula in Word

I've never used formulae in Word tables, but can't you use SUMPRODUCT? i.e.:

    =SUMPRODUCT(B1:B3,C1:C3)

    Hope this helps.

    Pete

    Re: Array formula in Word

SUMPRODUCT is an Excel formula; Word has nothing equivalent. If you need functions equivalent to SUMPRODUCT, insert an Excel workbook into the Word document and use that. Otherwise, to see how to do a wide range of calculations in Word, check out my Microsoft Word Field Maths Tutorial, at:

I did say Word has nothing equivalent to Excel's SUMPRODUCT...

    Did you register there?

Given the tutorial's name, I'd have thought an entry on the second site's page named 'WordFieldMaths.zip' was pretty obvious:
