    Inserting files as distinct documents

I have a group of 40 documents which I am trying to insert into a new document so that they merge in order into the one large document.

I can do this using insert > file , but it's not working how I need. Presently , with this method each added file is merged into the new document immediately beneath the previous one , usually mid-page.

What I'm trying to do is to merge them into one document so that each file acts as a new chapter and starts on a new page of its own.

Can someone advise on if there is a way to do this?
