mail merge picture not responding

The reason why the mail merge does not recognize the pictures is because they are 'floating' inserted pictures - even though you have them inside cells in Column D of your data spreadsheet in fact they are not embedded in the cell unlike the text that is in the range A2:C4 (click in a cell and see what appears in the formula bar - then click in D2 and see nothing appears in the formula bar ... that's right nothing because there is nothing in that cell - to mail merge the cells in column D are empty.
