    Macro combining PDF and word?

    Hello.

I need to do the following task repeatedly. Could someone help me to ease the job?
If I could automate even a small part of the task, that would be wonderful!!

    Task
    1) Open PDF
    2) Save PDF as Microsoft Word (word document)
    - This needs to be saved at certain folder --- right now I need to change the folder every time
    3) Open Word file
    4) Copy all
    5) Past it to existing certain excel sheet

I have to do this task 100 a day.
Could anyone please give me a tip, I would be very very grateful!

Re: Macro combining PDF and word?

You could only automate that if you have Adobe Acrobat Pro. The free Reader lacks the necessary API. In what format is the content and why, if you want it in Excel, are you using Word? In other words, why not copy the content from the PDF and insert it directly into Excel? Finally, if you're doing this so often, the implication seems to be you're using output from another system that should be more than capable of generating csv files or text files suitable for loading straight into Excel without the involvement of any other applications or conversions.

FWIW, Adobe Acrobat Pro 8 is available as a free download (see: http://www.techspot.com/downloads/46...at-8-free.html - note the serial# mentioned there). Updates, to bring it up to 8.3.1 are available from: ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobat/win/8.x/

Note 1: If you install the updates, you need to install them in order (8.1.0>8.1.1, etc.) and, although three of them will prompt to reboot, you don't need to do so until all of the updates are installed. Your AV software may also mis-identify a print spooler in the last few updates as potential viruses - just tell it to accept them as legit.

Note 2: If you want to use Adobe Acrobat Pro 8 as a Print Driver, you'll need to go to Start>Devices and Printers>Adobe PDF>Right-Click>Printer Properties>Advanced, then click the 'Print Directly to Printer' radio button.

Re: Macro combining PDF and word?

    Thank you, macropod.

I have Acrobat X and can save it as different document (excel, word, etc...). I cannot copy and paste the contents from PDF to excel as I am copying charts with lots of numbers and found out saving it as word document first, then copy it to the excel sheet is a lot smoother.

Could I automate it with Acrobat X? I would just like to avoid downloading free soft for compliance reason.

    Thanks!

Not unless it's the Pro version, as I've already indicated.
