Cleaning/normalizing company names in column?

I'm trying to clean up company names in a large spreadsheet. For example, get rid of the "Inc.", "Corp.", etc.

Is there an formula to automatically normalize all entries in a single column?

And you say: "get rid of the "Inc.", "Corp.", etc." - but unless the "...etc." are known, it will be difficult to account for them in any solution. Perhaps you could draw up a definite list of all extraneous words which you would like removing and then something could be done quite easily.
