Pivot Chart not displaying correct data

    Hi everyone,

I have just created a pivot chart and it seems to be displaying a count of the cells with values in rather than the actual values themselves.

I have attached my spreadsheet to give a better idea of what I mean.

The data table shows the overtime hours worked by employees, per month. If they worked x amount of hours in January, February and March the pivot tabe is showing a 3 for that employee. If they only worked x amount of hours in January and February then the pivot table is showing a 2 for that employee.
I'd like the pivot chart to show the actual number of hours that have been worked each month by each employee.

    Thanks for your help.

    Alex

hi Alex. when you have data that are not numbers in your source (blanks in this case. some scenarios have text), then the Pivot will use COUNT instead of SUM. so B9 is saying that there is a record count of 3 entries for Benjamin Wade. right-click any cell under B4 & select Summarize Data By -> Sum. that should get you what you want?

Thanks, if you have clicked on the * and added our rep.
