Pivot Table: How to filter only the last dates and show the related rest column status.

    Hello Excel Forum,

I'm not sure if I make the title is clear or not. But, here I'll explain my case:

I've a table of historical members status list. with this table, I could track each member status history, since the beginning they become a member.
here is the short of table

    Name Member Status Date
    Adel New Member 1-Jan-14
    Budi New Member 1-Jan-14
    Jhon New Member 2-Jan-14
    Smith New Member 2-Jan-14
    Adel Junior Member 10-Feb-14
    Budi Junior Member 16-Feb-14
    Jhon Junior Member 10-Mar-14
    Budi Senior Member 16-Apr-14

I expect to use Pivot table to show how many people which are still "New Member" and/or "Junior Member" up to now.
from the table above, there should be:
    • only one person who still as New Member. because it is only Smith, and
    • only two people with Junior Member. they are Adel and Jhon.

I've search around and found the following helpful link,
viewing only the last date in a pivot table for each user
    also
A quick way to return the latest date in a subset in Excel

But I can't figure it out to know the last status of each user (each member in my case).

Any one could help me to figure it out?

    thanx in advance

    Hi cbatrody,

Thank you for your template. it looks works for this simple table with a few mount of data.
But, if my data has thousands of member, it seem still difficult to know who are they, from the calculated formula.

    Any other idea?

While I'm thinking if we could re-filter the list in the pivot table, but I'm not sure if it possible
