Range not feeding properly into chart

    Hello,

My chart's data source is a dynamic range which is populated based on form control selections. A certain selection may populate the range with 3 values, while another may populate it with 5. Basically, the total values shown on the chart fluctuates up and down.

I can select the entire data source, but then when less values are selected, there are blank values in the chart. I'm having an issue with the chart showing exactly the amount of values that are fed into the source range.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Does the chart definition refer to the cells that the dynamic range occupies, or directly to the dynamic range?

Can you post an example spreadsheet?

    Hi Ben,

I attached an example of what I would need. Basically, when one value is in the range, I want the chart to only pick up those values and not the entire range I have select. Thanks for the assistance.

Re: Range not feeding properly into chart

I opened up the Name Manager and I didn't see any dynamic ranges.

Here; I moved the data into an autotable on the new "data" tab and used that to feed a chart. Use the dropdown on cell A2 to filter; because the chart by default ignores hidden rows, the chart on the "data" tab will automatically size the way you want.

You can do a similar thing with Pivot Charts as per the PivotTable tab.

Thanks Ben, that works. I guess I was way over complicating it. Appreciate the help.
