    Duplication Issues With Pivot Table

I've attached a simplified version of my workbook. I've created a worksheet "Data" and from that a Pivot Table on "Pivot" tab. But when I view the data on the pivot table it has split some data into two instances.

For example the product ref 77800 on the data tab appears 21 times. However, on the pivot table this shows as one instance of 5 (see row 16) and another of 16 (see row 91) and this isn't what I was expecting a pivot table to show. I thought there would be just one record of 77800 showing a count of 21. Is there an error or is this normal for a pivot table?

yes.. '77800' and 77800 are two different thing..

try to make them one.. either convert all to NUMERIC, or convert all to TEXT..

I've reformatted them to a number format but the pivot table is exactly the same.

That doesn't resolve it either unfortunately.

    Hi,
On your Data tab, in cell E1, type in the number 1, copy this, right click on the 'A' for Column A, and do paste special - multiply. then delete the 1 from E1 and refresh your pivot.
I've just done that on my desktop and its fine. if it still doesnt work for you, delete the pivot table and re-insert it, then it'll be fine.

Using the paste special, multiply forces the format of the number to change from text to number
