Alternatives to Slicers for Excel 2007

Hello All, am looking for alternatives to using slicers, which I built in 2013 for a great looking dashboard, only to learn this is not backwards compatible to 2007, which is used at my workplace and where I need it to work. I saw the following options so far:

    1. Create buttons, and then set up macros to filter the data.
Where I got stuck -- not very familiar with VBA, I can set up the macro to filter, but would not know how to "unfilter." For example, if a user presses the "Female" button to filter for females only, I do not know how to set it up so that pressing that button again would bring back the full population.

    2. Set up pivot tables with filters, and leave the Filter drop downs on the dashboard.
Where I got stuck -- the various charts on the dashboard have source data from different tables, and therefore a filter would need to be created for each table. This is not a bad solution but the preference is to have the one button for each category like the slicers.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

    Sheryl

Please don't mind the quality of the video. I had just started screen-casting and was inexperienced..

    It might help you..

Regarding your 2nd Point, is the filter a Report Filter?
    Cheers!
