    Pivot Query

    I have details of employees around 100 for their status on 50 questions in column , I want to analyze the data in pivot candidate wise and question wise( how many candidates failed in Q1) (Experience wise failure status) . I am bit confuse. Can anyone help me out.


    Name Experience Q1 Q2 Q3 Q4
    A 1 Fail Pass Fail Pass
    B 2 Pass Fail Pass Fail
    C 3 Fail Pass Pass Fail
    D 1 Pass Fail Pass Fail
    E 5 Pass Fail Fail

    Check the attached file

    you can simply drag Q1 field to row and Q1 to Q4 filed in value.

    Hi Ankur,
    Thanks for update, but if you check pivot it wrong like in Q2 there are 3 fail and 2 pass but pivot showing vise versa, i think the data is showing for only Q1 which is in Row Labels, can you please suggest ?

    Sorry I think your data is not properly punched, It will not done what you want thru pivot. Pivot need proper data base.

    Please check the attached file with some formula's. If it is ok with you then we can go further for explanation.

    Hi Harmender

    See if the attached file is what you are looking for. You will see the Pivot Tables on sheet 2. I created everything using Power Query in Office 365, not sure what the corresponding steps would be in Excel 2010. Hope this gets you on the right track.
