X axis scale and multiple graph sizes

    Hi,

I have a series of 10+ area charts which are cross sections along a profile of a river, therefore to compare them I need them all to be at the same scale and size on both the x and y axis and when I make the image smaller .

At the moment I can easily change the y axis using the minimum and maximum so they are all the same, however I can't change the x axis. The data that I am using is collected at different points along the 'x axis' and so there isn't a uniform interval with my data. Is there anyway I can adjust it so the scale is 0.1, 0.2, 0.3 etc.

Also, how can I make all the graphs uniformly smaller to a specific size without altering the x and y axis scales?

    Thanks

Area charts use "category" or "date" axes, not numeric x axes, so I'm guessing that your problem is related to that issue. If I'm wrong, a better description of exactly how the problem manifests may be needed.

Without further details, my first recommendation would probably be to use this "XY+area" combination chart idea. http://peltiertech.com/fill-under-be...n-excel-chart/ And that is only if the "filled area" part of the chart is essential. If a simple scatter chart will do (without the filled area), that will be even easier.

Ah that may be an issue as I definitely need an area chart. However, changing the x axis isn't imperative as long as my charts are all the same size to show its scale against one another. Is there anyway to uniformly change its size so they are all at the same scale?

Is there something about the XY-area combination chart that you don't like? You have not provided much detail regarding what you re doing, but this is the first suggestion I can make based on what you have provided. If that suggestion is not going to work, it will help me help you if I understand why it won't work for you.
