    Help with charts

    Hello!

Sorry if I ask dumb things, but I would really appreciate any help

So, basically I have several competitors products and one our product. I need to compare visually prices. I need some sort of scatter chart where y would be price and x - company. Each dot on chart would be different product. Our product would be line in the middle of y (parallel to x).

    Is it possible to make?

    How to make it?

    Thank you!

It's straightforward. See attachment for a worked example.

    Re: Help with charts

You see how I laid out the data table, with columns 'Company', 'Product', 'Their Price' and 'Our Price'? Note that the same value is repeated in column 'Our Price' for every row.

I then selected the 'Company', 'Their Price' and 'Our Price' columns, and inserted a scatter chart.

I then changed the chart type for the second chart series ('Our Price') to a line chart.

Then add data labels to the first series ('Their Price'), and choose Label Contains: Value From Cells, and selected the 'Product' column of my data table.

After that, it's just formatting the chart to suit.

    Re: Help with charts

You are very helpful! But can you explain, how did you change style of one particular column? And where is "Label Contains: Value From Cells"?

    Thank you!

    UPDT/
Never mind, got it. I could not change x labels because of chart type. If I make mix chart (with strait line) it all works like a charm.

Listen, if I have several of our products to compare, can I make it so I could choose in table our price (or better product itself) so it would change the chart? But the amount of competitors products always stays the same?

    UPDT2/

I can do it with ifs and drop down list. It works

Oh, man, thank you! I could kiss you) you are very helpful
