Current Date line in gantt chart

Good day

Please find attached my spreadsheet with an Excel gantt chart. You can refer to workbook "schedule inputs". I want to insert a line showing current date on the gantt schedule.

I have tried to follow quite a number of instructions from google however I keep getting strange results that are different from what the instructions say e.g.my labels on the vertical axis move down to the horizontal. On other attempts the "current date" line appears like a big block that stretches out my dates on the upper labels. May you please assist. I am using Excel 2013

Hi Paul

There are a couple of options, you could superimpose another bar graph (with only one bar on it) on top or original schedule and format the bar to look like a data date line. The other is similar to what I use in the attachment. Use error lines to act as dynamic data date that moves when you update the schedule. I've had to delete sensitive data but you should get the idea from the attachment.

Do you have any objection to me restructuring your gantt chart, that's the only reason I didn't mess with it in the first place. I couldn't get it to work on your current format?
