I have an XY Scatter graph. I need to convert some of the series from XY Scatter to Horizontal Bar.
I select the series I want to convert, select 'Design' on the menu, and 'Change Chart Type' on the ribbon bar.
I then select 'Bar' and select 'Clustered Bar', I then receive the error message "Some chart types cannot be combined with other chart types. Select a different chart type.
Attached is a JPG of my chart, the LINES are what I'm trying to convert.

Difficult to debug this sort of thing from a picture. It would be better if you upload a sample Excel file to the forum.
XY scatter + bar combination charts are common, so I see no reason why you cannot combine a scatter + bar chart (see this tutorial for an example of combining bar + scatter: http://peltiertech.com/Excel/Charts/BarLineCombo.html ). I would guess it has something to do with the series definition. I know sometimes it makes a difference what order you create the chart. Have you tried creating the bar chart first, then add the scatter chart series to that? From a picture, we can only guess.
