Using SLICER for first time. Can it be controlled by a field/cell?

Hi All, so I am using a slicer (Excel 2016) for the first time. I am using it to give me YTD figures from a table of data.

Is it possible to link the SLICER criteria to a cell so that if I update that cell with the current month, that it will automatically update the slicer criteria?
(I hope this made sense).
