I have a dax-driven pivot table.
It works fine until I apply absolute values. The regular/unapplied-absolute total remains even after I use "abs([value_field])". Not sure why.
I can't post the issue because it's from a huge data cube; but I have a picture showing the issue:
- when absolute values not applied to column f, the sum is 21,824
- when absolute values are applied to column f, the pivot table still sums to 21,824.25 (should be 23,602)
as a proof
- i created a function in column g to = 'columnf value'
- sum of all items in column g = 23,602
- this shows the pivot is not summing correctly when absolute function is applied
- variance of 23,602 - 21,824 of ~1600 is not being captured in the pivot's total
- this is a problem when looking at this data without the detail
