Error Bar Chart - Control X & Y Axis

Hi,

I'm using an Error Bar Chart to represent schedules like a Gantt Chart or having a series of horizontal bars.

I have an option to change various projects which will updates data tables

Curious to know if an Error Bar Chart X & Y Axis can be automated to fit the bar chart date ranges - Primarily interested with automating the X axis or date ranges to & include a couple of extra weeks or month to minimum / maximum dates

If needed, I'll create an example file later.

Short but useless answer -- yes, I'm sure it is possible to do what you want. Without details (chart type(s), how you are calculating and adding error bars, primary and/or secondary axis system, etc.), it is difficult to say much more than that it should be possible.

Since the main question is about automating axis limits, I will say that there is not much built in control. Excel has its built in algorithms for choosing automatic axis limits (which, in my experience, will take into account the presence of the error bars), but we don't have any real control over those algorithms. We can enter fixed values for these to override the automatic algorithms. When we want an automated algorithm that is different from Excel's built in auto algorithm, we have to write that algorithm and apply it as fixed values to the axis limits.
