Hi, how do i create a X Y chart? My Y = X^1.2 I have a two set data. When Y = 1,2,3 etc. Another set of data X which is dependent on Y.
I want to create a line which show the relation between X and Y. However, i keep getting 2 seperate line. How?

Delete the lower line - it is just plotting X against X. Then change your chart type to an X-Y Scatter plot with lines, rather than a line plot.
Hope this helps.

what u mean by lower line? Anyway, i discover that if its a Date and Amount. It will auto become one line.
HOwever, if its Amount and Amount. It will become 2 line.
Starting from the current chart (Chart already created but Excel did not correctly parse x and y values):
1) Select chart -> change chart type -> XY scatter -> line without marker (or desired subtype).
2) Pull up the "select data dialog"
2) Remove series 1
3) Edit series 2 and tell Excel to use B2:B14 for the Y values and A2:A14 for the X values.
That should give you an XY scatter chart showing y as a function of x. I would note that I frequently need to "fix" how Excel parses data series at chart creation, so this is not unusual.
To get Excel to correctly parse the x and y values at chart creation:
1) Select A2:B14 (do not include A1:B1).
2) Insert Chart -> Scatter -> line without marker (or desired subtype). Note that I think part of the reason Excel gives 2 series is because you created the chart as a line chart instead of a scatter chart.
Does that help at all?
