    Create graph using pictures

    Hello everyone,

I have a database that each word represents a picture.
I need to create a graph with this pictures using just one x-axis value and several y-axis value. I mean, picture will variety with y-axis values and need to be plot one above other in a x-axis value (I cannot displace pictures in x-axis).

To example, attachment DATABASE (left picture) are words associated with pictures and GRAPH EXAMPLE (right picture) is the graph I want to plot.

So, basically my y-axis (represents DEPTH) will change and associated with this value will have some picture. I need to find a way to do this in excel.

    Can anyone save me?

PS.: related to pics, they were taken from different sources because of that they don't "match" (database use to plot graph is not the same).

    Thanks!

    Re: Create graph using pictures

This looks like an interesting challenge. I think it could be solved with a stacked column chart and a bit of VB code to set the pictures. However, we'll need copies of the images and a sample workbook would help.

It will go faster if you have the images as JPG or GIF files, but if you have them in some other source where we can copy and paste them into images, that will help too. Images are much more important than a sample workbook. I can dummy up data if I need to.

Attach a sample workbook (not a picture or pasted copy). Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.
One spreadsheet to rule them all. One spreadsheet to find them. One spreadsheet to bring them all and at corporate, bind them.

A picture is worth a thousand words, but a sample spreadsheet is more likely to be worked on.
