Pivot table won't allow to sum by Cost

I have imported data using Data < new Query >from File , from CSV

I then tried to set up a Pivot table and when trying to sum the cost , I get an error-see screen shot attached


I have attached my raw data as well as the data which I imported as well as the pivot Table


It would be appreciated if someone can assist me on how to get the sum to work on the "cost" field. It is current showing as count, but need to change this to sum, which It will not allow me to do

It says it's of type text - have you tried changing to column type to number?

Thanks Ali. I added it to the data model and changed the data format to decimal number

It works perfectly now
